ELYSAS releases MUSE PRIME lenses with larger-than-LF coverage and custom options for “one-of-a-kind” bokeh, sharpness and flare
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Amsterdam, The Netherlands, 12 September 2025: At IBC ELYSAS has released its new MUSE prime line of cine lenses. Previously previewed at NAB, the lenses are now in full production and available to purchase.
Relatively compact and surprisingly lightweight, they feature larger than LF coverage which even covers the full 16x9 frame on Fujifilm GFX sensors.
They have a unique image that sits between vintage softness and modern bite. Out-of-focus areas beautifully melt and slightly swirl, letting the subject effortlessly stand out in a pleasing way.
Currently the set consists of seven lense. There are; 25mm T1.8, 32mm T1.8, 40mm T1.8, 50mm T1.8, 75mm T1.8, 100mm T1.8 and 135mm macro T2.8.

It starts with the look
In the digital age, cinematographers lead with emotion, not MTF curves. ELYSAS answered with “Melted Bokeh”: five zones of the frame - foreground, plane of focus, background, centre, edges - are differentially controlled and the aberrations re-balanced to pull the viewer into the scene.

An obsessive weight-loss programme
Lightweight was non-negotiable from day one, but at the same time the experts at ELYSAS wanted to create a lens with solid, dependable mechanics and an industry standard 95mm front diameter.
The in-house team shaved off every excess gram of weight through mechanical design, optical redesign, and material science. The result is a lens that feels great in the hand, yet each focal length weighs less than 900g.
This makes MUSE PRIMES the lightest 95mm-front-diameter, T1.8 PL-mount large-format cine lenses on the market - ideal for use on a gimbal or Steadicam, on the shoulder, or on a drone.

Large-format, new language
All MUSE PRIME focal lengths cover LF sensors and 16:9 mode on Fujifilm GFX sensors. The existing five lenses can even cover the whole GFX Open Gate image with a minor amount of vignette on the wider focal lengths - which many cinematographers will still find acceptable.
When the large format image is paired with the ‘Melted Bokeh’ the result is a layered, almost three dimensional image that large-format has rarely delivered before.

Custom engineered for each owner
The weight and performance were only half of ELYSAS’ mission. The MUSE PRIMES introduce the option for factory one-to-one customization that make each lens truly unique.
For an additional cost each lens body can be painted in a custom color to give a unique appearance and the ‘Melted Bokeh’ logo can be dropped.
There is also the option adjust the sharpness, bokeh shape, contrast and flare character of each lens. Importantly even the lens coatings can be changed to meet the cinematographer’s desires.
All customisations are premium-cost service with price on application.

Pricing & availability
The MUSE PRIMES have an MSRP of $2,399 per lens, but ELYSAS is offering a special launch price of $1,999 USD per lens for a limited period.
They begin shipping worldwide today.
